The total number of this type coins 38. Only 32 coins are know to be in private collections. The rest are to the governement museums (The Hermitage , Moscow Historical Museum, etc,)
Mickaïl Borisovich, appelé aussi Mickaïl l’exilé, fut le dernier Grand Prince de Tver (1461 -1485), fils du Grand Prince de Tver, Boris Alexandrovitch. Il n’a pas été en mesure de résister à Moscou, qui agissait en conformité avec les politiques d'Ivan III Vasil'evich. En cherchant à se libérer de la dépendance croissante à l'égard de Moscou, Mickaïl Borisovich (1483) à conclu, avec le roi polonais Kazimiroim IV, un contrat qui, à la demande d'Ivan III, a été annulé. En vertu de l'accord, (1484 -1485) Mickaïl à continué de communiquer secrètement avec Kazimiroim IV. Quand Ivan III à assiégée Tver, Michaïl a fui en secret vers la Lituanie. La principauté de Tver a cessé d'exister. En 1486, Mickaïl a tenté, avec l'aide de la Lituanie, de regagner la perte de son règne, mais cela fut infructueux. Les dernières années de sa vie, Mickaïl Borisovich a vécu en Lituanie en exilé.
